Rubber testing and testing instruments. A coherent approach.
Eng. Mauro Belloni, Gibitre Instruments srl
Considerable changes have occurred in the testing of rubber in the last years. Most of the changes required for the testing activity are related with the modern development and production requirements. A modern laboratory must normally face an increased number of product developments and prototypes, a quicker production rhythm, an increased number of test reports to produce, deliver and store, reduced tolerance limits, reduced number of people dedicated to the testing activity, increased price competition and higher labour turnover. A coherent approach to the development of the laboratory must include measuring instruments, software, maintenance, calibration and training tools that ensure reliability and permit to design, perform, store safely and deliver all the required tests minimizing the impact of manual input.
